Welcome to Shapland Swim School Ipswich. Owned and operated by Paul and Erica Thomas.

Paul has worked in the learn to swim industry as a swimming teacher and swimming coach for 14 years, 7 years within the Shapland Swim School system. Erica previously worked in the health industry and is now a qualified learn to swim teacher. We are both AUSTSWIM qualified, Blue Card holders and the parents of 3 adult children.

We look forward to working with your children to develop their personal aquatic survival skills (PASS) in a fun environment. Developing your child's swimming skills takes time, patience and encouragement especially when the pupil appear to be at a standstill during the learn to swim process. It is common for pupils to plateau during their learn to swim journey. Every child is an individual and will therefore develop skills at different stages. This is one of the reasons we keep our swim class numbers limited to three pupils per swim class.

When entering the swim school you will enter the air conditioned observation room. In this area you will find the office and amenities. On pool deck there is a toilet and two separate shower/change rooms. The pool is heated, fully enclosed and has UV reflective roofing.

Payment & Enrolment Details

There is an swim school enrolment fee of $58.50 per family. (Your enrolment fee ensures you a permanent place in the swim schools learn to swim program and we require a month’s notice when you wish to finish). Swimming lesson fees are calculated over a calendar year which equates to $58.50 per month* ($13.50 per swimming lesson) *there are 4.35 weeks in a month Payment for your child/s swim classes is due the first week of each month. A simple, convenient payment system is in place and signage around the viewing room will indicate Payment week and fees due. A family discount of 10% is given for three or more children having swimming lessons.

Swimming Lesson Make-up System

Your child will be entitled to a make-up swimming lesson as long as you inform us before your child’s usual scheduled swim class time that you are unable to attend.

To arrange a make-up swimming lesson please call on 3812 7712 before 8.00am on the day you would like to come. We will attempt to cater for your requirements; however it is at the convenience of the swim school.

Cancellations of your swimming lessons

Your booking is a permanent place in the learn to swim program at our swim school and we require a month’s notice when you wish to finish your child's swimming lessons. The Swim School Enrolment Fee ($58.50) is then used for your child's last 4 swimming lessons.
