WELCOME to Shaplands Swim School - Taigum. We employ AUSTSWIM Accredited staff to take your child/ren through the learn to swim process. Our swim school aims to provide swimming lessons that are family friendly, affordable and of a high standard.
Our swim classes cater for children 6 months and upwards.
Adult learn to swim classes are also available
Our swim classes have a maximum of three children per class to ensure more individual attention.
We conduct our swimming lessons in a calm environment with no more than 2 learn to swim classes in the pool at one time. Parents are encouraged to observe their child’s progress from the comfort of the air conditioned viewing room. The pool temperature is kept at a constant 32 degrees. The swim school operates 50 weeks of the year.
Our Manager Karen has taught swimming for over ten years and has had 8 years experience with Queensland Surf Life Saving.

The Taigum Swim School has an enrolment fee of $60.65 per family. This fee guarantees a permanent swim class in the swim school. A monthly fee for swimming lessons of $60.65 per child is then charged. The payment for these swimming lessons is due in the first week of the month. Note that the swimming lessons fees are the equivalent of $14.00 per lesson. We aim to provide a simple, convenient payment system during your learn to swim experience with us and signage around the viewing room will indicate when it is payment week at the swim school and when the learn to swim fees are due.
PAYMENT FOR SWIMMING LESSONS
Cash, cheque, internet banking transfer, eftpos and credit card are all acceptable payments for the swim classes. A sibiling discount is also offered: A family discount of 10% off the childrens swimming lessons for the third child who is attending swim classes is offered. Families with four children in the swim school will be able to have the fourth child learn to swim free of charge.
MAKE UP SYSTEM FOR SWIM CLASSES MISSED
Your child will be entitled to a free make up swimming lesson as long as you inform us of your child's absence from their normal swim classes BEFORE their scheduled swimming lesson time.
To arrange a make up swimming lesson please call the swim school before 8.00 am on the day you would like to attend the make up swim class. We will endeavour to meet your request, however the availibility of the make up swimming lesson will dependond of the availability of swim classes at the swim school on that day.

CANCELLING YOUR SWIM CLASSES
Your enrolment fee ensures you a permanent swimming lesson class time in the swim schools learn to swim program. We require a months notice when you wish to finish up you swimming lessons. The enrolment fee ($60.65) is used for your last 4 swimming lessons.
